Eva Serdyuk and Daria Romaniuk dominated the U-22 European Beach Volleyball Championship in Baden, Austria, claiming gold on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The Ukrainian pair defeated Czech sisters Kristina and Adela Pavelkova in the final with a convincing 2-0 (21:16, 21:18) victory.

"We came here with one goal - to play our best volleyball in every single match. The result speaks for itself," – the Ukrainian athletes might have reflected after their historic performance.

Serdюk and Romaniuk showed exceptional form throughout the tournament, winning all three group stage matches with perfect 2-0 scorelines and securing an early advancement to the Round of 16.

Their playoff run was nothing short of spectacular. The Ukrainians crushed Slovakia's Majernikova and Dancova 2-0 (21:7, 21:10) in the Round of 16, then dismantled Norway's Mol and Sunde 2-0 (21:8, 21:11) in the quarterfinals. A challenging semifinal against Switzerland's Bossart and Kernen resulted in another straight-sets win – 2:0 (28:26, 21:14).

Interestingly, the first set of the semifinal proved to be their toughest test, requiring extra points before the Ukrainian duo could seal it 28-26.

The final against the Pavelkova sisters from the Czech Republic saw Serdyuk and Romaniuk maintain complete control throughout both sets. They never trailed significantly and closed out the match with tactical precision.

This victory marks a historic milestone for Ukrainian beach volleyball. Not only did Serdyuk and Romaniuk secure the European U-22 title, but they did so without dropping a single set throughout the entire tournament. Perfect record. Zero sets lost.
