Fernando Henrique has signed a long-term contract with Ukrainian club "Oleksandriya" after leaving Brazilian side "Cruzeiro". The 24-year-old midfielder committed his future to the Ukrainian outfit until May 2028, as officially announced by the club today.

"I'm excited for this new chapter in my career and ready to help the team achieve its goals in both domestic and European competitions," the Brazilian might be thinking as he embarks on his first European adventure.

Henrique's career path hasn't been straightforward. He started in Gremio's youth academy before moving to Cruzeiro, though he never quite established himself there. Instead, he spent most of his time on loan spells with various Brazilian clubs including Vila Nova, Portuguesa, and CRB.

Last season wasn't particularly productive for the midfielder. He made 21 appearances without registering any goals or assists - not exactly impressive numbers, but "Oleksandriya" clearly see potential in the Brazilian.

By the way, the timing of this transfer is interesting as "Oleksandriya" is currently involved in the Conference League qualification. They're facing an uphill battle after losing 0:2 to Serbian side "Partizan" in the first leg of the second qualifying round. The return match is scheduled for July 31.

Can Henrique potentially make an immediate impact in that crucial European fixture? We'll find out soon enough.
