"The qualification format presents a balanced challenge for all teams, with each squad playing six games across two international windows," a FIBA representative stated when announcing the schedule.
The qualification matches are set to take place during two specific time frames - November 9-19, 2025, and March 8-18, 2026. Each national team will compete in three games during each international window, creating a compact and intense qualification process.
For the Ukrainian women, their qualification journey begins with an away fixture against Montenegro, after which they'll host two consecutive home matches. During the March 2026 window, Ukraine will first welcome Montenegro on home soil before embarking on consecutive away trips to Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
The complete Group E schedule shows Ukraine opening against Montenegro on November 12, followed by matches against Bulgaria (November 15) and Azerbaijan (November 18). The March 2026 leg includes home games against Montenegro, with subsequent away fixtures in Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
According to qualification rules, the top two teams from each group will advance to the second round. Additionally, the three best third-placed teams across all groups will also progress to the next stage.
