Andriy Yarmolenko has confirmed his plans to retire at the end of the current season while discussing "Dynamo" Kyiv's upcoming Champions League qualifier against Maltese side "Hamrun Spartans".

"I've already said this is my last season for me. I'm not backing away from my words. Right now, the most important thing is to give everything so the team can play in the Champions League main draw, become Ukrainian champions again, and win the Ukrainian Cup," stated the Dynamo winger.

The experienced player emphasized that personal topics should take a backseat to team objectives right now. He made it clear that discussions about his career can wait until the season concludes.

Yarmolenko stressed the importance of maintaining focus despite their 3-0 advantage from the first leg. For a club like "Dynamo" Kyiv, quality performance and results always remain paramount.

"As the first game showed, we have a worthy opponent whom we respect. But tomorrow will be the second half," Yarmolenko noted. "Of course, there's the first match result, but we need to approach with maximum concentration and play our football. It's the start of the season and we need to build form."

The return match between "Dynamo" Kyiv and "Hamrun Spartans" takes place tomorrow, July 29, at 9:00 PM Kyiv time. The Ukrainian side secured a comfortable 3-0 victory in the first meeting of this Champions League second qualifying round tie.

By the way, Yarmolenko's focused comments suggest he's fully committed to ending his career on a high note. Can the veteran help guide "Dynamo" back to the Champions League group stage in his farewell season?
