Yevhen Isakov has been officially appointed as the head coach of Ukrainian basketball club "Kryvbas". The Kazakhstani specialist will lead the team throughout the upcoming 2025/26 season, bringing his diverse coaching experience to the Ukrainian championship.
"I'm looking forward to this new challenge with 'Kryvbas' and believe we can achieve significant results together," – Isakov might say about his new position.
Isakov's previous work in Ukraine includes coaching in the Higher League with "Hoverla" and most recently leading "DiDiBao" from Kamianets-Podilskyi earlier this spring. His appointment marks a new chapter for the club after a period of transition.
Interestingly, the coach has extensive experience in his native Kazakhstan, where he worked with several prominent clubs including "Barsy" (Atyrau), "Caspiy" (Aktau), "Astana" (Astana), and "Irbis" (Almaty). He also served as an assistant coach for the Kazakhstan National Team, adding international experience to his resume.
"Kryvbas" made this move following their decision to part ways with Oleksandr Vorona at the end of spring. Vorona had been at the helm since November 2023, but the club evidently felt a change was needed.
Can Isakov bring fresh ideas and success to "Kryvbas"? Basketball fans will be watching closely when the 2025/26 season tips off.
