Ainars Bagatskis has disclosed that four Ukrainian players with NBA connections could potentially join the national basketball team for the upcoming World Cup 2027 pre-qualification matches.

"Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk will join the Ukrainian national team after the completion of the NBA Summer League (July 10-20). We also expect Dmytro Skapintsev to arrive after the Summer League," – Bagatskis stated.

Oleksiy Len's situation depends on his contractual status. The coach explained that Len will join if he signs a contract soon. As for Maxim Shulga, his participation hinges on his club's decision.

"Maxim really wants to play for the national team, but the decision about him depends entirely on the club," – the coach added about the Boston player.

The Ukrainian squad faces Switzerland and Slovakia in August matches. By the way, team officials plan to publish the complete roster on July 9, just before the NBA Summer League begins.

Ukraine's schedule includes both home and away fixtures. They'll first visit Switzerland on August 8, then host Slovakia three days later. The return leg against the Swiss will be played at home on August 14, with the final match in Slovakia on August 17.

Can Ukraine secure enough NBA talent to boost their chances in the pre-qualification tournament? Basketball fans will soon find out.
