Floyd Mayweather has harshly criticized undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, calling the Mexican fighter "easy prey" during a recent interview.

"Look at this guy, Saul Alvarez. I'll tell you the whole truth about him. This bastard was easy prey. Simple as that. You all praise this guy, but he's nothing. I was almost 40, and I easily handled this guy," Mayweather stated.

The American boxing legend showed no restraint in his assessment of Alvarez, who has since become one of boxing's biggest stars. Mayweather defeated Canelo back in 2013 by majority decision in what was, at that time, the highest-grossing pay-per-view event in history.

Interestingly, this isn't the only headline-making statement from Mayweather recently. The undefeated boxer also weighed in on the greatest heavyweight of all time, giving that distinction to Larry Holmes rather than more commonly mentioned names like Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson.

Will Canelo respond to these harsh comments? The ball is now in the Mexican champion's court.
