Thomas Frank praised his Tottenham Hotspur players despite their penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup match held in Udine.

"The players, the team, the fans — they all gave everything, playing against one of the best teams in the world. For 75-80 minutes we didn't allow them to create anything, despite their quality. I'm very proud of that," Frank stated after the match.

The Danish manager highlighted how PSG demonstrated superior mentality before the penalty shootout, which he believed was crucial to their victory. Despite the disappointing result, Frank viewed the performance positively.

Interestingly, the "Spurs" managed to contain one of Europe's most formidable attacking forces for most of the match, showing defensive discipline that could serve them well in upcoming competitions.

"This was a positive match for us, and we should praise the players who almost won this game. Every game matters, and the players' faces clearly expressed disappointment," the Tottenham boss added.

Frank emphasized that his team has been training intensively to compete across multiple tournaments this season. Recovery will be key as they prepare for their next challenge.

"We've been working hard because we want to compete on several fronts, and for that we need to recover immediately. The players and I will be ready," he assured.

Tottenham's next test comes at home against Burnley. Can Frank's men bounce back from this narrow defeat with a win in front of their home supporters?
