Vitaliy Kostyshyn has decided to start Yashkov in goal as "Kudrivka" prepares to face "Oleksandriya" at Obolon-Arena in the first round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

"We've been focusing on defensive stability throughout our preparation period," – the coach might explain about his selection choices.

Kostyshyn has arranged his defense with Machelyuk, Shapoval, and Melnychuk, while positioning Nagnoinyi in midfield and Morozko on the right side of attack. The formation seems designed to create a solid foundation against an unpredictable opponent.

On the opposite side, Kyrylo Nesterenko has made several key decisions following "Oleksandriya's" disappointing 0:4 defeat to Serbian "Partizan." He's placed Bol in central defense, with Buletsa and Fernando controlling the midfield, while Kulakov will lead the attack.

The full "Kudrivka" lineup includes Yashkov in goal; Machelyuk, Potimkov, Shapoval, and Melnychuk in defense; Nagnoinyi, Storchaus, and Dumanyuk in midfield; with Morozko, Legostaev, and Kozak forming the attack.

"Oleksandriya" responds with Shevchenko; Skorko, Kampush, Bol, and Ndika; Buletsa, Fernando, and Myshnov; rounded out by Kozak, Kulakov, and Tsara.

Interestingly, both teams have placed considerable emphasis on their midfield configurations, perhaps indicating where both coaches believe the match will be won or lost. Will this tactical approach pay off for either side in this season opener?
